The Steward School seeks a Summer Camp Counselor to join our team of dedicated individuals providing exemplary experience for our Summer Programming participants. This is a part-time, non-benefited position reporting to the Director of Auxiliary Programs. The position spans the summer months of June-August with working hours from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a supervisory member of the Summer Experience team ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Assist with all aspects of summer camp programming including attendance, communication, and organization.
  • Supervise a group of support staff and campers during off-campus excursions.
  • Assist with oversight and adherence of vendors and staff to all camp policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the supervision of group movement to maintain schedule and daily timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s, Bachelor's or Master’s degree (Education, Recreation or Early Childhood Development) is preferred.
  • 1-3 years relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to drive a Minibus is preferred.
  • Previous lifeguard experience is preferred.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED training preferred (training will be provided if not current).
  • A collaborative and positive demeanor with strong classroom management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Drive; experience with Camp Brain or camp registration software is preferred.
  • Energetic, adaptable mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Commensurate with experience and education.
